2018 done!

As a beginning teacher in 2018, I found that I would need to focus mostly on behaviour management - especially going into classes mid-year. I figured that if the behaviour was managed then the teaching would come more freely.

I decided to put my focus on reading strategies and finding comfortable ways that I could teach my learners. In order for learners to write, solve maths equations and take part in other curricular activities, reading was a key aspect.

After being in an attentive class of year 7s and 8s, and thrilled year 4s and 5s, I have decided that my teaching practise will benefit from learning more about effectively teaching guided reading sessions. By doing so, my next class will be engaged and interact positively towards set tasks and group work. I am hoping that by taking these next learning steps, my learners will be able to boost their reading age levels.

I cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for me!
