Term 2 Inquiry Reflection

Coming to an end of my first year of teaching, I have learnt so much about reading and the different strategies that can help me make my teaching effective. 

My biggest takeaways are:

- Vocabulary. Am I using language that the children understand? Am I introducing them to different techniques to learn and identify unknown vocabulary? Do I expose them to enough vocabulary?

- Deliberate Acts of Teaching. Am I taking advantage of all the teaching that I can give? When opportunities arise, am I taking the time to acknowledge them?

- Observing colleagues teaching reading. Have I observed enough teachers to get te
