Text Coverage Planning

 Having a look at my planning, I saw that I have a good range of Fiction and Non-Fiction texts when choosing texts for my learners for the week. I try and link Inquiry in to my Literacy learning that way when we are doing Inquiry, my learners can transfer knowledge cross-curricular.  

When planning for my texts this term, because I am integrating our inquiry focus into our literacy programme, all of them are fiction. I make sure to always have a whole class non-fiction article so they still have a mixed text range.

I think going forward, I need to branch out to more texts like poetry and novels. In my long-term planning, I have planned for a range of texts, even though they may be on the beginning end of the term.
